Happy New Year

Dear Cycling Family,
Happy New Year!
It's 31st of December 2020. Some of you are already on the other side of the cosmic portal, meaning in 2021!
74% of you have now received their pledges or are about to receive it.
Unless a comet strikes earth, we will be able to say "we survived 2020". That's great news!
We know everything can happen. Everything is possible. Cars can be stopped, planes can stay on the ground, bicycles can strive!
According to the Global Carbon Project human carbon dioxide emissions dropped by 7% in 2020. This means we are at the level of carbon emissions we were in 2000.
Muscular and electric are the future.
Wait.
Those massive changes are not enough to slow the speed of global warming. Still, least they have opened the path to a new way of living.
It's an unique opportunity to create a new economy around different values.
At MOVA, we think riding a bicycle is a value. You respect the environment, you meet others while you commute. You do good to yourself. You get in touch with the elements.
Sometimes I wish we could ride naked, like this guy in Portland.
The truth is mother earth thrown at us harsh weather.
That you'd better be seen by car drivers. That's why we exist. To make your everyday cyclists' life better.
We create the link between your skin and the outside world. We connect you to the rain.
So we survived 2020. In the crowdfunding world, surviving is not enough.
Delivering is the condition of satisfaction.
Thank you to all of you who have posted a kind comment regarding their package. In case you have missed them here they are:
In summary, 74% of packages have shipped out from Bogota. A huge majority is delivered. More packages are being delivered everyday.
To fulfil the 26% of you we are still missing, here is the to do list:
First the Snood (previously known as Winter Face Mask on Backerkit).
First, let me tell you it's freaking awesome. Comfortable, versatile, adaptable. Especially if you have glasses (like I used to). We basically solved the mist problem on glasses.
We made a little design adjustment by making the entire mouth part blue instead of with triangles motives. The rest of the snood is with blue triangles.
So if you ordered a snood without and you do not have a Jean or a Shoe Cover in your pledge, it will ship within days.
The last two steps we need to face are clear: the Jean and the Shoe Covers.
The Shoe Covers are done within a couple of days and will ship by the end of January. If they ship in January it means you will receive them by February.
They were supposed to ship before but we had to make a last minute improvement to ensure waterproofness that generated an extra delay.
Regarding the 56 backers who ordered the Jean we have you in our radar.
The Incredible truth is that the golden prototype of the jeans were lost during transportation.
Weirdly the jeans have been the most complicated piece of the addons puzzle. It will take at least two months for us to complete the process and ship it to you.
We understand that it's too much, so here is the solution that can speed things up.
In order not to make you wait more, we wanted to offer to all the Jeans backers who are not ready to wait any longer for more money you originally invested. Get a Winter Jersey and a pair of waterproof socks instead of your jeans and get instant shipping! Together those two are worth $139 where you only invested $99.
Of course you can choose to wait for your jeans that are also a great piece of apparel. You only need to be patient but we are moving forward with this process as well.
We will send you a survey so you can make your choice clear to us.
Last but not least, the future seems bright for our company and for 2021. A new crowdfunding project, events in Europe, the 1% for urban cycling. MOVA will create more adventures, from city streets to mountain trails for all of you.
We keep the fire burning through those dark times because we know how to adapt to change. It's a useful skill today.
Keep flowing. Stay healthy. Keep riding the wave on your mighty bicycle. Everything will be ok.
Ride in Peace,
Roland, Daniela, Carola and Andrea!

Dear Cycling Family,
We are back on track! Let's start with good news.
250 packages have shipped from Bogota to you. I read some great comments on the Kickstarter wall.
Special big up to Daniela, Andrea and Carola who have done an amazing job by shipping your packages!
Please keep posting when you receive your package.
This means the production of the Rain Pants is over. It means the ball is rolling fast. It means the hardest part is also behind us.
Thank you for that. It makes us really happy that after so much work, our cycling family is getting even more than expected.
Together, we are doing it. We are on an excellent path to victory. Still, we have a lot to do in order to deliver 100% of you.
Especially for our European backers and backers who ordered a Jean and/or a Shoe Covers for which production is still ramping up right now.
Regarding the Shoe Covers and the Jeans, we have had millions of problems. For the Shoe covers, production is planned to end by December. And January for the Jeans. We got in touch with all the backers to find a solution for each of you.
Shipping to Europe has been complicated due to a new shipping process we had to create this year. We solved it and massive shipping to Europe is expected for the next two weeks.
You will receive an individual tracking number to your email via a DHL email. I will also send you an additional email with your tracking since we have read in the comments some of you had not received it.
Also, I am sorry for the lack of communication lately.
We have been a bit under water trying to solve some problems from France to Colombia. Things keep on taking much longer than expected on almost every step. Planning is hard.
Additionally, I have to confess that it has been increasingly hard to manage the ongoing lock down due to the pandemia. I am a very social person. I love moving around. But since March 2020 and at least until February 2021 I have not been able to feel free. Almost one year...
It is definitely having a psychological impact on me. I am sure it's the same for many of you, as it is for the rest of the team.
Let me tell you it's normal. It's hard.
It's all about eating well, doing sports, wearing a mask, washing your hands, meditation, calling friends, riding a bike. Focusing on good things that we have: family, friends, house, fresh water, good air.
Oh yeah, Let's focus on great things we have!
What else would you recommend us to do to get through this?
To all of you who might feel the same: Do not give up. Find strength within.
Things will get better. We want to celebrate with you. We have plenty of dreams we want to share with you.
We are proud to call you our support. Our backers. Our Cycling Family. The people who make this project alive. The people who believed in us for years.
We take care of everybody. We will not let anyone down.
We are trying to answer all of your questions as soon as possible. But at the end, we are humans. We sometimes fail to do so. Especially when the workload is huge like it is right now.
We are alive. We are doing it.
Thank you for your patience.
Looking forward to reading your comments on the Kickstarter wall.
Plenty of love to each of you.
Ride in Peace.
Roland
