The Pin For the $10 Voluntary Donation Available on Backerkit
Dear Cycling Family,
Yesterday, we launched the Backerkit Smoke Test with the first 5% of backers. Smoke testing is the preliminary testing to reveal potential problems.
So far so good!
The backers that already received their surveys are happy.
This will allow us to send the Backerkit Survey this Sunday - 21th of June 2020.
It's also summer solstice!
It's the longest day of the year, marking the start of summer.
The Air Jacket is perfect for your summer Rides, the rest of our apparel is mainly made for your winter.
Sizing is important here so please take a few minutes to double check which size you will pick up.
As some of you asked for it we added new sizes.
The inseam grows from 5cm from regular to long from the crotch to bottom of the Rain Pants.
New Sizes:
- Inseam Regular for XS S: 75cm / 29.5 in
- Inseam Regular for M L: 77cm / 30.3 in
- Inseam Regular for XL XXL: 79cm / 31.1 in
The long inseam, similar to the one we published
- Inseam Long XS S: 80cm / 31.5 in
- Inseam Long M L: 82 cm / 32.3 in
- Inseam Long XL / 33 in
- Inseam Long XXL: 84 cm
On the other hand, a friend of ours designed a bicycle pin we really love.
We decided that it would be cool that each person who makes the $10 voluntary donation receive one of those!

Dear Cycling Family,
We wanted this to be a surprise. But by keeping it a surprise, many of you might have not liked the name and email they would have had on their bamboo key chain holder.
Let me explain:
Each of you will receive a personalized key chain holder made out of bamboo and repurposed fabrics. It will carry your name and email address. If you loose your keys or your bag, the person who find it can easily email you.
This is how it will look:
To do your personalized key chain holder, we will use the information you will put on Backerkit.
So please be sure to use an the correct email and name, those will finally appear on your key chain hold.
Regarding Backerkit, please avoid the use of special characters (éèçñ...) into your address. It makes your package harder to deliver.
Last but not least, here are some pictures of all the little adjustments we are doing for you, are more surprises!

Dear Cycling Family,
First of all thank you for your patience in receiving your pledge. We wanted to deliver in May and the coronavirus changed our plans.
Those are parts of the events that are hard to include in the schedule. We hope you understand.
We reinvited our company in a couple of weeks to fulfil the promise we acquired with you: deliver the best Rain Pants possible to ride a bike everyday.
We are super excited since production will start soon and this means delivery is coming.
100% of the Kickstarter Backers will get their reward by the end of July. Before this there is still a lot to do.
We are proud of the result. We love it. People who have tried it love it. We know you will love it too.
It’s by many standards the best of what you can get on the market. You will be the first on planet earth to enjoy it!
Again, thank you for your trust and patience. Although Colombia is still under lockdown, our industrudy is judged as essential so our factory could open again.
The last step of the process can now begin: Backerkit.
We are a few days away from launching the Backerkit Surveys.
Those surveys help us to better understand you. Survey is a good method to listen and learn.
We have some questions regarding your bicycle, future products, marketing etc.
By better understanding what you need and who you are, we can craft our future according to your needs.
More importantly, we used the additional time given by the crisis to improve the products.
Every product is better than what you pledged for a few months ago. They look better than the photos!
The Shoe Covers protect your shoes from the rain. It combines harmoniously with the Rain Pants.
We added an ultra resistant material on the bottom part so you can walk with it without any problem.
It’s easy to put on and to take off. It includes stretch waterproof materials so it fits to any shoes. We changed the system to put it on and off so it’s easier and faster.
Slip your shoe into your gear and lock with the velcro. You are now ready to face any weather.
We added reflectives also as many of you have been asking. It’s very lightweight and easy to store.
Once again we listened to you!
Then we have the Face Cover. It’s a key item for every cyclist. It’s even more relevant in those pandemia days.
It’s very breathable and includes the possibility of adding an anti-pollution reusable filter.
Remember you voted for the design?
It also includes an adjustable aluminium frame so that people who use glasses do not get vapor while riding.
The back part has an elastic so it stays tight and comfortable on your face.
It’s perfect for winter riding.
We also designed some reflectives stickers you can stick on your helmet, your bike frame or on your wheels. They are also a very nice little addon to add visibility and safety to your ride.
In our quest for creating the best product possible, we decided to improve the seam sealing tape to ensure ongoing friction would not damage waterproofness.
We also improved plenty other little details (velcro on the calves, improved elastic, extra reflectives).
Those changes were made on-the-go and not planned. Still, we felt it was the right thing to do.
This means the price of production of the Rain Pants raised.
To support those improvements and a better product, we are asking for a voluntary donation of $10 that covers the material for those upgrades.
In order to keep up with the schedule, we had to report the back pack cover we had designed together.
Dear Backers, the corona crisis has been hard to handle and generated many extra costs. We have been transparent with you regarding every aspect of our company. Today, the situation is hard.
We love our job. We love working with you. We love our company.
We want to keep going. We dream big with making this planet more cycling friendly.
More than ever, we need your support. We entered survival mode by reducing our costs to the minimum in order to preserve every job at MOVA and ensure production and delivery.
This strategy allows us to take care of people: our customers and our team.

Dear Cycling Family,
Slowly but surely life is blooming again in Bogota. Since the 16th of March, we have been under lockdown and so was our factory.
When the lockdown started we were only one step away from making the golden sample of the Rain Pants.
The golden sample is the last prototype we make and that we use as a model for the production.
We need special machines to get it done and we could not make it in the worker's house like we did for other samples.
The good news is that on Monday 4th of May our factory, under very strict conditions, opened again.
So we are officially back on track to deliver your Rain Pants.
This is the best news we have received for the last 2 months!
Next week will follow the size set, which is the last step before mass production.
The size set matters because based on those measurements you will be able to pick up your sizes on Backerkit.
Pick up the right size matters a lot since it could mean avoid some extra Co2 in the air.
More than ever we have to lower our carbon footprint. You play a key part here.
Backerkit is also a great opportunity for you to get our other apparel at the best price possible since shipping is already covered by your first order.
Many of you have been asking to complete their waterproof outfit with one of our jackets.
Or with a 2nd layer to be protected against cold weather when it comes back in September.
